15 Nov Rialto Primary Care Centre
Rialto Primary Care Centre
This project involves the demolition of no.’s 379 and 383 South Circular Road, Rialto, Dublin 8 and the construction of a new Primary Care Centre. The Centre will be recognised as a Civic Building serving the local residents of Rialto. It will house a GP Clinic and HSE Primary Care Team with associated shared circulation. There will also be a Pharmacy at street level.
The building will be 3-storeys high, in-keeping with local planning objectives, and will be set back from the site’s eastern and western boundaries so as not to infringe on its neighbours. It will be clad in red brick and punctuated largely by windows with partially obscured glazing to prevent overlooking.
A large glazed atrium on the public elevation, imagined as a secure continuation of the streetscape, will denote the entrance of Centre and create a pleasant and welcoming environment for incoming patients. An external void in the centre of the building will deliver natural light and fresh air to the central accommodation.
A single external ramp alongside the west facing elevation will provide vehicular access to a concealed basement car park which will also house plant rooms and waste storage facilities. Bicycle parking and gardens will occupy the remaining perimeter of the site.
The proposed centre is to comprise, circa:
- 2907m2 HSE Space
- 325m2 GP Clinic
- 126m2 Pharmacy
