Final Section of Ladyswell Parnell Estate Handed Over to Respond ....

Just one day later than the contract completion date, the final section of this development of 272 units, which included a Créche and Group Home, was handed over today. 

Construction Director, Mel O'Reilly, expressed disappointment that it had not happened on the due date, saying: "Unfortunately, for logistical reasons, the Client would have found it difficult to take secure possession on Friday.  We didn't really have a problem holding on over the weekend, but the company takes great pride in meeting targets. This was the last of the 44 buildings in the development to be completed: the bulk of the buildings and units were completed earlier in the year and many are now occupied. We also take some consolation from having overcome significant obstacles and delays arising from the time taken to remove and underground the extensive ESB overhead lines, the late ESB network connections, and the fact that two of the buildings were redesigned and put on hold for a year"

The development, located on Ladyswell Road in Mulhuddart, is a mixture of social and affordable units of traditional houses, duplexes, and apartments ranging from two to four storey structures.  The development has extensive open space and a children's playground. The bank of the Pinkeen River, which borders the site, has been extensively planted creating a linear parkland area.

Several members of the MDY project management team are now moving to start another development with Respond in Cookstown Way in Tallaght.
