Finn McCarthy's Hardware is moving to a new premises in Prosperous......

MDY Construction were recently awarded the contract for the construction of the new state-of-the-art premises for Finn McCarthy & Son Ltd on the Allenwood Road in Prosperous, Co. Kildare and work will commence today. 

The current store on Main Street in Prosperous was started by Finn McCarthy and served both the building trade and the do-it-yourself market for many years.  Finn's son Con recently took over the management of the business and has taken it very successfully into the 21st century.

The new premises, designed by Fitzgibbon McGinley Architects is a steel frame structure with Kingspan MR panels, Bradstone walling, and K-Rend external finishes. Retailing space is provided over two floors and there is also an external garden centre area.  Builders will continue to be served at a dedicated trade counter with adjacent warehousing and external yard stores area.

MDY has assigned a team of Randol Taylor, Contracts Manager; Graham Prole, Site Manager; Tom Dunne, Senior Surveyor. This is the same team that successfully brought their recent project , Ardscoil na Tríonóide in Athy, eight months ahead of schedule.
