Another Contract in Athy for MDY Construction...

With work on the combined secondary school not yet finished, MDY Construction have started work on a further contract in the fast-growing town of Athy, Co. Kildare.  

The Select Vestry, through Hamilton Young Architects, have awarded the contract for the construction of a new parish Centre adjacent to the church to MDY Construction following competitive tender.

The Kildare Nationalist reported:-

"The sod was turned on a new parish centre and community hall on Fridaymorning last by leas Cathaoirleach of the town council, Mary O’Sullivan, watched by Rev Edgar Swan, Archdeacon of the Dublin/Wicklow dioceses, Rev Cliff Jeffers, Rector of Athy Union of Parishes and members of the Church of Ireland Community. Architect for the project, David Young of Hamilton Young Architects, and Pat Cosgrove Managing Director of MDY Construction also attended the ceremony, which took place on the site.

Work on the construction of the project commenced on Monday morning last and, when complete, will replace the former Parochial Hall, which has served the Church of Ireland and local community for almost 100 years."
