Camden Court Hotel - New Contract for MDY...
MDY Construction commenced work on extending the Camden Court Hotel in Charlotte Way, Dublin 2 on August 13th.
A Conference Centre, restaurant extension, retail area, additional
bedrooms , and Laundry Room are to be added to the existing facility.
The project also includes major refurbishment to both the restaurant
and reception areas. It is anticipated that the works will be completed
in the early part of 2008.
Maintaining the full range of hotel activities during the course of the building works will be a major logistical challenge for both builder and hotelier. This, together with the usual problems of city centre access and restricted working space, will make this, at the very least, an interesting project.
MDY Construction Commercial Director, Donal Doyle, stated: "This is a very significant project for the long-term development of the company. In recent years we have neglected the leisure section of the construction industry due to unprecedented demand in other sectors, particularly residential. We do not expect to suffer in any downtown in residential building - one of the strengths of the company is its ability to compete and operate successfully in any type of construction environment"
