Greenstar award the contract for the construction of their new Administration Offices at Fassaroe, Bray to MDY Construction.

Following competitive tender, MDY Construction has been awarded the contract for the construction of a new office complex for Greenstar at their Fassaroe plant in Bray. The project comprises the construction of 350m² of Administration offices in a two-storey steel-framed building, 3000m² of car parking, together with significant drainage and ground improvement works. Work will commence in mid-June 2007 and is scheduled for completion in February 2008.

This is a repeat contract for MDY with Greenstar. In May 2006, Greenstar commenced operations in their new Materials Recycling Facility and Administration Office development in Ballycoolin. The complex consists of a 4,388 m², 18 metre high, MRF unit with 5 metre high reinforced concrete walls to perimeter, 1200m² of office space in a separate building, weighbridges and bridge control rooms, and over 10,500 m² of external yard slabs. The equipment fit-out of the MRF building began in January 2006, while work continued on the Administration building and ancillary services.

MDY Construction Managing Director, Pat Cosgrove, said: “We are absolutely delighted to be working with Greenstar again and especially with Martin Murray Architects and Nolan Ryan (PQS), having worked very successfully with both on the Ballycoolin project. Although the current project is much less complex than Ballycoolin, we will give it the same care and attention, and strive to achieve ever higher standards.”
