Second phase of Respond development, built by MDY Construction, at Easton in Leixlip is officially handed over by Mayor of Kildare, Fionnuala Dukes.
The ceremony, attended by TDs Bernard Durkan and Emmett Stagg and by local councillors Teresa Byrne, Senan Griffin and John McGinley, took place on site and in the GAA hall. In all 103 units have been completed, with the first phase handed over on 24th May 2006.
Council officials formally handed over keys to the units to each of the lucky occupiers.
The units are terraced, semi-detached, and detached units, with Carlson timber windows, brick and monocouche elevations, in a standard masonry, truss-roofed construction. Apart from the houses, the development contains a Group Home, a Short Stay unit, Crèche, and several apartments.
The works, which included development of an additional 27 private sites, commenced on site on 7th February 2005 and the project was completed on programme.
